After an unexpectedly warm reception from the industry Greening of Streaming has been running to keep up with all the members activities over its first six months! In summary:
The organisation has formed 4 working groups.
WG1 : Lexicon - Ensuring there is consensus in the definition of terms that the industry uses internally and also with the consumer and wider scientific community.
WG2: Outreach - Focussed on building the membership and inviting more organisations to the discussion.
WG3: Best Practice - Exploring how learning and outcome from working together can be disseminated across the industry.
WG4: Live Event Energy Measurement - A practical project to initially form better insight into the energy used across a live event streaming workflow operating at scale.
And we have various key events lining up to encourage more discussion and collaboration.
Huge thanks to all members for immense support as we have collectively established Greening of Streaming as a key 'go to' forum for joined up thinking about energy efficiency across the streaming industry.
